Temple of Literature

A few years ago while I was making the switch from Actionscipt 2 to Actionscript 3 I discovered the power of sequential loading. To illustrate what sequential loading IS NOT I want you to think of a website that you've been to and it seems like it takes way to long to view the next image or next bit of content. Or you go to a site and it takes the page forever to load and slowly all the images start to load and there's a bit or waiting. Well it's the waiting that drove me nuts. Even to this day if I go to some slick website and it takes seconds for each image to load when I click the next button I get angry.

Good-bye QueueLoader. Hello LoaderMax.

Coming Soon Count Down Microsite

February 16th, 2011

You have this really great idea for a website or a client comes to you and says they need a new site, but it's going to take a few weeks, months, or maybe even more to get the final product hosted. Meanwhile the client is breathing down your neck to get something up yesterday. You could put up an "under construction" page or a "coming soon" banner, but those flashing gifs with construction barriers are so 1999. What you need is something great; a preview of what's coming and a timeline to when the new website or product will be launched.

The Coming Soon Under Construction Count Down Template was built to fill the gap between between getting the job and having the final site live. But it's more than just a placeholder page because you can easily turn this micro site into a mini portfolio or product showcase with image gallery, video, and mp3 player. It also comes with an alternate mobile web page for any iPhone users that visit your site.

The nice part about this file is you won't even need to open flash. By editing the XML file you can customize everything. The site is a 100% flash and scales to every screen resolution. Skip the gif hard hats and flashing construction barriers and download a file today that looks expensive and professional.

THE REPLACEMENT: A YouTube player for the rest of us.

I admit that there is no better video service on the planet than YouTube, but I also admit that the standard YouTube player is not the prettiest. That's why I wanted to build a video player that could utilize youtube's video service, and also be used for video files you host on you own webserverand so this player was born.

This video player is not included in the download of this HTML template, but rather is sold seperate on ActiveDen
